Connie grew up on a farm in land locked rural Alberta and her family was not water-sports enthusiasts at all but luckily, she had lots of friends that were. In 2007 she was first introduced to wake surfing at a time when the boats and boards were definitely not as advanced as they are today but still instantly loved it. It wasn’t until Connie and husband Cory bought their first real surf boat in 2014 that she became a die-hard enthusiast and has been hooked ever since.
When Connie began, she started on a skim board and after the first couple years she made the switch to surf style after meeting Soulcraft team rider Emily Agate. Emily was instrumental in introducing Connie and Cory to the real world of wake surfing, including the vast array of tricks and maneuvers that the more accomplished surfers were developing. Living in Canada definitely limits the surf season so for the last 2 years they have been taking their boat to Arizona to help combat that and continue their passion for surfing all year long.
Connie and Cory love taking people out and teaching them to surf. There is nothing better than a day on the lake sharing such an amazing sport and setting them up for success with the best gear available like a Soulcraft board!
Current Board
EM
The EM has evolved over the years and is now designed with a squash tail, a fuller nose and some of the best attributes of our other models to help riders reach the podium of their local surf comps. The mini blunt nose and squash tail design make the board very responsive and quick to maneuver for those who enjoy quick carving and spins. Unique to this model, we’ve added nose rocker “flip” to help avoid pearling.
