Grace wake surfed for the first time when she was ten years old where her Dad, on a whim, bought a wake surfing boat. She knew instantly she found her niche and passion! The family went from rarely visiting a lake to owning a houseboat and spending every possible minute on the water.
When Grace was eleven, a friend who competed in wake surfing competitions suggested that she give one a try. Grace entered that competition in the Junior division with her most advanced trick being a knee down on the surf board. It was at that first competition that she met Angie Viland - at which point Grace’s wake surfing world was forever changed for the better. Angie introduced Grace to Soulcraft boards, and by the end of her first lesson on a Soulcraft she was able to pop big ollies out of the water! By spring season, not only was the whole family exclusively riding Soulcraft boards, but Grace had two podium finishes under her belt.
Gracie’s 2020 season is off to a great start with a 1st place finish in the Arizona Fall Qualifier in Women’s Amateur Surf Division. With training support from Angie Viland, Gracie is excited for the season to kick into full gear with goals to qualify for the World Wakesurf Competition in Fall.
We're looking forward to supporting Gracie’s progression and see her grow within the Soulcraft family!
